What is a Geodesic Dome?

A geodesic dome, often called a geodome, is a self-supporting structure composed of interlocking triangles or hexagons. These strong geometric shapes join together to form a highly stable, hemispherical design. Geodesic domes are an excellent example of innovative and visually striking architecture, with a futuristic appearance that naturally captures attention. The Invention of the Geodesic Dome: In the 1920s, German engineer Walter Bauersfeld designed the first geodesic dome for a planetarium atop the Zeiss factory in Jena. It was lightweight, spacious, and weather-resistant, meeting all requirements after years of trials. This led to the creation of the groundbreaking Planetarium Jena.

We are delighted to introduce India’s first “Edutorium” — an innovative immersive learning dome that brings curriculum chapters, space science, environmental studies, biology, geography, and poetry to life through 360° dome projection. This concept aligns perfectly with NEP-2020, focusing on experiential, visual, and technology-enhanced learning. What is the Edutorium? Edutorium is an 18–20 ft diameter spherical dome designed to seat 20–30 students comfortably. Specialized educational videos are projected onto the curved interior surface, creating a powerful immersive learning experience
